Freelance Internet Writing - ProBloggers

ProBlogging is one of the little known secrets of the blogging community. Probloggers are, quite simply, bloggers that have sponsors or advertisers on their blogs. There has been a lot of talk on-line about the ethics of blogs with ads in their content, with bloggers from many of the bigger blogs crying out that bloggers would loose credibility and be seen as untrustworthy. Strange how a visit to these blogs generally reveals them to have their own sponsors and advertisements. Apparently it is a simple case of the big fish not wanting the little fish to get any of the goodies that are available to bloggers.

Thankfully there are sites out there that will help the little guy in finding these elusive advertisers that want to pay people to blog professionally. One such service is Blogsvertise, which works with established blogs (generally seen by such services as a blog that has been in existence for a set length of time [generally 3 months] and has posts that are kept current within the past week). When a blogger joins Blogsvertise they are given assignments to write about products/services. There is no requirement by Blogsvertise
to endorse the products, the blogger being left free to discuss, criticize or review the product/service as they see fit.

Note: At the moment the going rate for postings from blog advertising sites is anywhere from $2.50 up to $10 with the average being $10. There are also highs of $35 or more possible depending on the advertiser and the service used. Fairly decent prices for Internet writing that takes an average of 60 words. Most professional writers can turn out a 60 word ad in roughly a minute, so assuming that it takes even 3 minutes to write one ad, that is a possible pay rate of $200 per hour for work. According to the 2005 edition of Writer's Market - advertising copyrighting has an average hourly rate of $83 with a high of $150.
