My dream office - Mayline furniture from Bizchair

As winter closes in around me, I have started to consider the possibilities of an office outside the home to help combat the cabin fever that can be such a major part of the Alaskan winters. Thankfully I have space for such a daydream in the form of a large quanset hut that I have cleaned out with plans to build myself a home gym, however, now that the quanset is ready for whatever I desire I am finding myself considering the possibilities of an office rather than a home gym.

The quanset is a large enough size to comfortably hold a sprawling office, spreading out to a comfortable 20' x 16' in size and making it hard not to contemplate the possibility of using the structure for such fancies as a meeting room for a writing group. I can so easily see a large horseshoe shaped conference table dominating the open space, perfect for a group of writers to gather around and brainstorm on novel ideas. Or cleared off with a chair in the middle area and my manuscript and notes spread out around me with what has become my dream desk, a beautiful Toscana Reception Station, set along one wall where I can store away all of my work.

And speaking of storing work... as I was browsing the Bizchair website looking at all of the possibilities I was captivated by the sight of a mailroom desk and thoughts of how perfect it would be to have something like that in my dream office. I know it is just a daydream, but can you imagine being able to tuck notes for each of the stories and articles you are writing on into their own cubby rather than the traditional filing drawer? For about $1,500 you could redesign your whole workspace to allow you to easily access any project or quickly file away notes from one project or another without hassle - a lifesaver for serious multitaskers like me. And Bizchair offers free shipping on their line of Mayline Furniture, which means more money that can be put toward my dream office redesign.

I know I will have to use makeshift office pieces for a while, but daydreams are what my work is built upon, so I will not be giving this particular daydream up very soon and want to be certain that I can find my way back to the above selections when the time comes that I can start planning my office with intent to buy.

Warning - Don't do business with BizChair. Check their BBB complaints first. They are a company with a poor reputation. When/if you have a problem, you will get nothing but grief.
