Speaking of guerrilla marketing for writers... look into trade show displays

Here's an idea for your next book signing. Get a trade show style display or even just a backdrop and a few side panels that can be mixed and matched based on the space you have, and set it up where you are going to be signing books.

Maybe go see what the local mall would charge you for a little floor space in the central aisle for a weekend or even a whole week to set up your booth near a bookstore and join forces with the bookstore to advertise your book outside the bookstore and sign copies people buy (if you do make sure the bookstore has advanced warning to stock up on a few extra copies or bring your own).

Or just go it alone, particularly if you self published and have a garage full of books to move out so you can let your husband move his car into the garage and work on it. Set up the display in the highest traffic section of the mall you can afford to rent and start selling.

Or better yet, have your teenager or friend sell for you while you autograph books and work on your next novel. People will stop to find out just how a novel is written and then walk away happily clutching an autographed copy of your novel and thinking that if you can do it and be ready to write book two that they can do it too.

It's worth a shot. And with Custom Trade Show Displays from A Smash Hit! displays, you can get a trade show display booth that has your novel's cover printed on it and a pair of side pannels talking about other books in your series or that you have written.

Give the people something to read and look at while they are waiting and eye catching graphics to draw them in. So, kick back, check your finances and look around the A Smash Hit! website and see if you might benefit from getting a display booth to use for selling your novels. It might just be the best investment you can make in your advertising campaign.
