Basic Synopsis: Something has happened, whether through accident, fate or the environment, and it has caused a great disaster that has set the scene upon which the protagonist of the story needs to recover and fight back. They may fight for survival, to save others or for vengeance if the disaster was an event caused by another person. The disaster plot is usually the sort of story where an event (explosion, earthquake, flood) destroys a significant part or all of a town or city or other similar setting.
