I have decided that my little old Alphasmart is the best investment I have made in my writing in years. It is a older model (Alphasmart 2000), bought off eBay, but I love the thing and am eagerly awaiting November and the start of NaNoWriMo. I think I will make a much better showing in it this year when I am not looking back at what I wrote and editing as I go.
This little thing is far more than just a tool for NaNoWriMo, however, it is now how I make notes to myself when I am out kicking around the yard, or driving around, or anywhere I don't want to take my laptop. With the Alphasmart I can type things in and load them quickly onto the computer when I get home and it's good to go. I love it. If you're serious about writing, look for an Alphasmart.
