How about a dark stormy night and the clock in the hall of the ancient manor house begins tolling midnight as the heroine of the story makes her way down the hall by the light of a candle because the power has gone out?
Okay, muses eager to go now? Wait till the stroke of midnight, then start typing!
Oh, maybe start with a writer typing on their new novel as the clock begins to chime the midnight hour?
