What makes a good gift for a writer?

I have been writing for a while now, and do you know what the most useful thing this side of a good gel pen is? Aside from a good lined notebook. Dual monitors on the computer.

Ah yes, I love my little laptop's ability to run two monitors at once and want my desktop to do that as well. Actually, I have been informed I am insane because what I really want is at least an 8 monitor setup, but I can wait (however impatiently) for that.

Now, why do I say dual monitors for writers? It is so that the writer can have their word processor open and be able to research things online using the second monitor without having two computers running. I love being able to open up my Firefox browser in one monitor and the article I am working on in the other monitor and work away on both writing and research at the same time.

So, my pick for what someone should look for if they are buying a computer for a writer this holiday season? Dual monitor capability.
