Writing diary for 2008

I've been thinking about getting a diary for 2008, but instead of filling it in with diary entries I want to use it to enter my day's writing work every day. I'm not sure if I will be entering just the word count or an outline of what I wrote or actually using the diary as the writing book for writing my novel in. I do some of my best writing when I write longhand, so I might just get a diary that I can actually write the novel in and then at the end of each week spend some time transcribing what I write during the week into the computer.
