Epocrates has released a free medical software for PDAs intended for physicians to use so that they can check on possible drug interactions when they are writing new medication prescriptions for patients, however, when I looked at the information on the software, my mind immediately went to the possibilities of such a thing for family caregivers.
Think about it, with the free medical PDA software, a caregiver can discreetly double check any new prescriptions a doctor might give to their care recipients for any possible interactions to old prescriptions from other doctors before they leave the doctor's office.
Don’t worry if you don’t own a PDA, because in addition to the PDA version, Epocrates has medical software for other devices as well. Such as the Pocket PC, Palm, and Windows Mobile. They have also recently launched medical software for Blackberry, and are working with Apple to develop a downloadable guide for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
