Hyper pen thieving puppy

I keep having a problem with my puppies stealing my pen whenever I leave it sitting anywhere they can reach it. Cheyenne is the worse offender at pen theft, and also has no qualms about using my laptop as a stepping stool when she finds it left on the TV tray and wants to get to the shelf behind where it is sitting. I'm trying to break her of all of those habits, but she is such a rambunctious puppy - especially energetic after having attacked the 5Hour Energy drink I had sitting on the shelf. ::pounds head on desk:: I had sat it on the shelf and it vanished. Found the bottle with teeth prints in it, set it on higher shelf and it is gone once again. Can't even find the chewed on bottle this time. Hopefully it don't have anything that would hurt a puppy in it. She just seemed to be extra energetic for a while the other day, really annoyed her brother who was VERY tired and just wanted to lay down - I think now I know what got into her.
