Writers know that rewriting is a part of life, however, it is never a good thing when it concerns rewriting a safety announcement for prescription medication – particularly when it concerns the safety of the drug in regard to pregnancy and possible birth defects.
Recently the FDA issued a safety announcement for the prescription drug Topamax. The safety concern was in regard to the risk of birth defects when the medication was taken by pregnant women.
The risks to the fetus include cleft palates, which occur during the first trimester – when many women might have been unaware they were even pregnant when prescribed Topamax.
If you feel that the prescription medication Topamax might have been responsible for your child being born with a birth defect, and would like to know if you might be able to file a Topamax lawsuit to seek assistance in paying costly medical bills to treat your child's birth defect, then the law office of O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath would like to invite you to contact them at:

Note that in their safety announcement the FDA stated that there are cases where the risks of taking Topamax, and other topiramates, by pregnant women may be acceptable due to the specific benefits of the drug in the treatment of epileptic seizures.
