Back to work

I'm home and ready to get back to work on my novel. It has been far too long since I threw myself into working on it. Last night I printed the manuscript out, so far it's 53,234 words long and covers just about half to two thirds of what I have planned for what happens in the story. Thankfully I have a good idea on where it is headed so I just have to buckle down and write the parts I am unsure about so I can get back into a groove and start writing the last third of the story. There are also some gaps within the story where I had got stuck on what I wanted to do in a particular scene so I just left a note that I had to add there.

I'm going to reread the last written chapter today and get back to work on writing, leaving everything that I have printed as it is so that when I have finished the rough draft I have it all printed and can start working on revisions immediately.

And I got me a thumb drive finally. A little 256mb one for $20 out of Wal Mart. I plan to use it for archiving my novel on. That way I will not risk losing the novel if something happens to the computer.

That's right, you should have thumb drive to back up your files.
