Well, it has done it again. My ISP seems to have some kind of glitch, not sure what the problem is exactly, but it is refusing to pick up the line when I dial in. I called technical support and she spent half an hour talking to me on the phone trying to figure out what the problem was and trying to fix it. End result is the same as where I started at, so she referred me to someone above her of the company, and he will call me back to the next 24 hours. Until then I get to sit and wait for DSL the work again.
Cosmic hint number one: Work on your novel.
Well, I'm still not sure what the trouble was, but the DSL is working now. Around 6 hours later. Shaking head. Best I can guess is that something at the ISP did not disconnect when I had got booted yesterday. This had happened before with the dial-up, so I am not sure just what it is that happened. Some kind of glitch in the wiring schematics somewhere I suppose.
I did get some work done, but not as much as I know I should have. (Too much of the time was spent trying and retrying to get DSL working again.)
