While I am nitpicking movies...
Now, don't get me wrong, I liked the movie Eragon. It was a kewl movie with good effects, but....
Was I the only one that saw a strong resemblance in Eragon to Star Wars? Let's review...
Luke/Eragon is a farm boy living as his uncle's son on a small farm.
Luke/Eragon gets something that the lovely Leia/Arya is trying to hide from the bad guys - a something that can end the rule of the big baddie.
The big baddie Lord Palpatine/King Galbatorix killed off all the other Jedi Knights/Dragon Riders and seized control.
Luke/Eragon finds out he's got something interesting (dragon/droid with message) and ends up encountering the man to be his mentor - Obi Wan/Brom (who we know long before we're told is a Jedi/Dragon Rider himself that is hiding out for something he did that was bad.
Luke/Eragon are tutored about dragons/the Force by Obi Wan/Brom while on their way to join up with the Rebellion/Resistance Fighters.
Luke/Eragon decide they have to save Leia/Arya from the baddies before they kill her - good idea and all, but poorly thought out and... well... the mentor ends up paying for the Padwan's errors.
I'm sure that you can fill in more details on your own by now and understand why throughout the movie I have been expecting Arya to be revealed as his long lost no one ever knew about her (Well, Brom/Obi Wan knew) twin sister.
Like I said, love the story, but it's apparently true that no story is truly original and there are only a limited number of plots in existence.
Eagon ... good movie with that "Long long ago... far far away" feel to it.
