Enmity of kin
Character types:
Malevolent Kinsman
Hatred (or a reciprocally-hating) Kinsman
Basic Synopsis: In this plot there is a relationship between the two characters, whether they are siblings, cousins, in-laws or even a parent and a child, something ties them to one another and makes them family. And something strains that bond, leaving one, or both, having animosity toward the other. This might be a situation where the father-in-law despises his new son-in-law and wishes to remove the man from his daughter's life - permanently. It could be two brothers that are rivals for their father's attentions, perhaps twin sons of a king that despise one another because they know that one day only one can be king.
