Writing Challenge: The Villain

I challenge you to write a scene from the villain's point of view, and make us feel a connection to the character. Give us a reason to think that the character is doing what s/he is doing not because the story needs a baddie, but because it is what that character thinks is the right thing to be doing based on their view of the situation/world/life. Don't just slap a cardboard mustache twisting villain on the page - give us a reason to almost want to root for the baddie.
