Have you checked out TechPalooza yet? I had heard of them before, but I never actually made it out to their website.
Right now TechPalooza has a very nice little Lenovo Tablet computer, the perfect looking computer tool for any writer, for under $1,500. There is no shipping through the end of August, so I wish my finances allowed me to get it now. Unfortunately my finances don't allow it, so I'm going to have to wait. Which is okay, since in my looking around the website I have found a few other computer products that I want to get. Now to build my writing office and then go back to TechPalooza and see what it would cost me to equip the room with what I need in it. hehehe!
Their website is very easy to navigate and I had to drag myself away from looking over all the goodies that they have. Such as a Palm TX on their top sellers list - $253.00! Memory cards as low as $7 for 256MB.
Check the site out, I think you'll like what you see.

Okay, so you have your novel published and it is ready to go, right? You've done all the guerrilla marketing you can think of and are looking for new ways to get that book sold. Right?
How about a sign for your car? Yup, that's right, a sign to stick on the side of your car to act as a rolling billboard for your book to help increase sales. Everyone is looking for something to read when they are stuck in traffic or at a stop light. Everyone looks at a sign on the side of a car to see what it says when they walk past it in a parking lot. Make your car work for you by getting a custom sign made for selling your book.
I just designed a Car Magnets sign at BuildASign.com that features a bear crossing a stream and has the title of a website of mine on it, and to get that in a magnetic 6"x24" bumper sticker would be under $25. (Cheaper if I ordered more than one to give out or have spares in case the first was damaged.) Imagine the possibilities of a full color sign for the side or back of your car that displayed a image of the cover of your book, your book's title, your name, where to buy the book... anything you desire to have included on it fully customizable. Check out BuildASign at the link above, I think you'll like what you find.

You know what I need to do? I need to go get me a temporary job in someplace like Edinburgh where I can immerse myself in thoughts of castles and lovely scenery and kick the muses into hyper overdrive.
This thought is prompted by looking at jobs in edinburgh over on Gumtree. They have listings for a lot more than just jobs, but the jobs is what has my attention. Maybe a job at a hotel? That would be kewl, get a job working in a hotel set up with an old medieval period theme -- wonder if I could find something like that. Hmmm... Maybe I should keep an eye on the edinburgh jobs pages and see if I can find something where I can spend a year or two over there researching castles and things.
Scotland has always captivated me with how lovely it is, and is one of the places I would dearly love to go. Maybe one day, when I don't have other commitments, I can just take off and go explore the countryside, look for those jobs in edinburgh that would let me tour the country as I earn enough to pay my way. It would be kewl. And definitely a good way to get first hand experience on what the countryside and castles and all that is really like.

I have been playing hookey from writing by hanging out at the Money-Casino. While I have not made the dive into playing for real money yet, I love the fact that they let me play the games without putting money on the line first and without downloading anything. There is a prompt as the page is first loaded, asking if I want to have it download their free casino while I am browsing their site, but I just click on "cancel" and it goes away and I'm not asked again.
From the main page of the website you can get to the no download casino by looking under the row of images showing the game types, just above the yellow line. Look for the phrase:
"To Launch the No Download Casino - Click Here"
Click on *click here* and you will be taken into a new window where the casino will load up.
At the bottom of the screen just click "Practice Mode (no login required)", there will be a brief welcome message, click the check mark and start playing the games.
Easy navigation lets you find the games you want with a little learning of where everything is. There are buttons in the lower right that allow you to toggle to real play if you decide you want to risk some money (or win some).
I like the slots and poker or blackjack, but the Money Casino has all sorts of games including craps and roulette. Check them out and see what you think, just be warned - you can spend a lot of time just enjoying playing the various games.
Also be sure to check out their magazine for all kinds of articles from what to wear at the casino to Texas Hold'em tournament tips and much more.

Teamwork in the automotive industry for a better environment

The environment is something that everyone is thinking about lately, and it is something that I have been looking to write about for some articles I want to get written, so I was very interested when I heard that Isuzu and Toyota have come together to have a positive impact on environmentally friendly alternatives in the automobile industry.
People seem to be driving a lot of large trucks lately, or at least they seem to be driving more than normal in the area where I live, and I can only assume it has something to do with diesel engines that large trucks have. Now, mind you, when I say large I don't mean extended cab, I mean huge. One I saw a few days ago, which was fire engine red even, had me looking for insignia and stuff that might identify it as a fire engine. So, I am interested in Isuzu and Toyota's plan to come together and research, development and produce technologically advanced small diesel engines for passenger cars.
Katsuaki Watanabe, President of Toyota, states, "Toyota sees protecting the environment as the biggest mission for an automaker." Yoshinori Ida, President of Isuzu, seems to agree with that. Watanabe goes on to note that hybrid technology is one effective way to protect the environment, "but given that each country has different energy policies and regulations... we believe it is necessary to further strengthen areas related to diesels."
Ida states, "By teaming up with Toyota, I am certain that we will be able to create the world's best diesel engines." The alliance is something that he sees as not only strengthening the competitive edge of the two companies, but as something that will also contribute to the global environment. That is something that I think is going to be worth keeping an eye on. While many automobile companies already work to put the environment first, I am hoping that more of the large automobile companies will follow their lead in working together toward that goal.

My family did our fair share of moving when I was a kid, a lot of it was the long distance type that included a few cross-Canada trips. That taught me that no matter how long you live somewhere, no matter how settled in you are, you should always be ready for the possibility that you will have to move from there to somewhere across the country. While I don't want to ever have to move again, I am not so foolish as to presume I won't one day be force to for some reason.
It is this kind of circumstance that Service Network is hoping to help you get through with their moving company matching system. This is a website that has a network of moving companies you can search for a Cheap Moving Company. These are all licensed and insured moving companies that must meet a number of qualifying factors before they are eligible to be accepted into the network. They even have a dispute resolution center on the site to help you with any problems you might have during the move.

I have a niece that is expecting her second child soon, which means that I am about to be back in the market of shopping for something for a baby. It is not always easy to find something good to give to a baby, trust me, I know. I've shopped for a *lot* of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and friends that had babies and... yeah, a lot of shopping for baby things over the years.
Which is why I like The Nest Baby Shop. You can shop online and find unique personalized baby gifts, many items that include free personalization.
They have baby shower supplies too. Fun stuff to make the baby shower a memorable event for all. Starting with invitations and games and ending at favors and even a diaper cake. The Nest Baby Shop is not just for expecting mothers, they have stuff for kids up to three years old. Looking for a birthday present for a child under 3? This could be a great way to find something special and even have it personalized.

Cyber security is extremely important in this day when so much information is passed through the lines of the Internet. In February of this year, the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation recognized this as one of the reasons in choosing Capella University student Tammy Alexander as the 2006 FBI Director's Community Leadership Award recipient.
The award, which publicly recognizes individuals or organizations efforts to make a difference in their communities through working to deter violence and drugs, was presented to Alexander for her "significant contributions to cyber security, Infragard, and the law enforcement community, specifically the Knoxville FBI".
Alexander stated that, “There are a lot of people who are deserving of this award. I’m so honored to be recognized among all of them.”
As a master's degree student at capella university, Alexander is studying education with an emphasis on enrollment management. The director for information assurance and cyber security training at Fountainhead College of Technology in Knoxville, Tenn., Alexander develops and conducts cyber security awareness lectures and workshops. In addition to that she is the Vice President on the Board of Advisors for the Infragard Knoxville Members Alliance, a FBI program that aims to improve and extend information sharing between private industry and the government, particularly the FBI, when it comes to critical national infrastructures.
"Critical infrastructures are those physical and cyber-based systems essential to the minimum operations of the economy and government. These systems are so vital, that their incapacity or destruction would have a debilitating impact on the defense or economic security of the United States." - President William J. Clinton, 1998
About Capella University
Founded in 1993, Capella University is an accredited* online university that offers graduate degree programs in business, information technology, education, human services, and psychology, and bachelor’s degree programs in business and information technology. Beginning with a quote by Virgil (70-19 B.C.), appreciative coaching advises you to "Look with favour upon a bold beginning." And that is what the book is about, making a bold beginning to change the way you work and what your success will be. Based on the four stages of:
Discovery: Reflecting and Celebrating
Dream: Articulating Potential
